Ilpo and Jonathan met each other in 2001 at the Art Academy AKI in the Netherlands, after many evenings of contemplating, first ideas for an international artist network was born.

Plans really started after Robert and Jonathan met in Vancouver on September 11 2001 after having a discussion on art and a visit to Roberts Studio. As you can see even good things came out of that specific date.

Correspondance followed over a year in which it was decided, that given common disposition and goals, that an international society be founded. Tupajumi International was thereby officialy born in 2002.

The first general meeting was highly succesfull. Over the course of a week Tupajumi researched Swiss culture by Exploring the National exposition in Switzerland (Expo02)

The Website was up and running quickly there after and the rest is public information.
